The official visit to the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum by His Excellency Cui Tiankai, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the United States, has been postponed until later this year. The Ambassador personally telephoned Nixon Foundation President Sandy Quinn this morning to say that he had been called back to Beijing for important meetings next week. He promised to reschedule his Library visit for later this year.

The Ambassador was to make his first appearance in Orange County at the Library on Tuesday, May 27 accompanied by Representative Ed Royce, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Ambassador Liu Jian, Chinese Consul General of Los Angeles. Ambassador Cui was to tour the galleries, birthplace and memorials of President and Mrs. Nixon, and to address a civic luncheon of Southern California business, education and government leaders.
